Chinese traditional lantern ceremony also known as “#Yuan_Xiao_Jie” was held on February 5 from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Chinese Cultural Centre located in Ahlone township, Yangon.

Chinese Yuan Xiao Jie is similar to the Myanmar lantern festival of Thindingyut and Tazaungmon, the head of Joy Chinese Language Center Lae Yee Phyo made a speech at the ceremony.

The ceremony was organized by the Chinese Cultural Centre and Joy Chinese Language Centre.

The awarding ceremony was involved in the event. Prizes were given to nine winners who won the Chinese Festival Photography competition and Chinese Festival Essay.

An official from the Chinese Cultural Centre, Ms. Xu Ling, Chairman of Myanmar Chinese Youth of Commerce Nay Lin Maung, and Principal of Joy Chinese Language Centre Lae Yee Phyo attended the “Yuan Xiao Jie”.
