Passenger vehicle hit by mine on Myawadday-Kawkareik Asia road
NP News - Jan 12
A passenger vehicle was attacked by terrorists by a land mine on the #Myawadday_Kawkareik_Asia_Road in which damages occurred.
The incident happened in the morning of January 11 between Taw Naw Waterfall and Seik Phuu Valley on Asia Road on the side of Kawkareik township in Kayin State, the local witness told NP News.
"All windows of the express from the attacked side were broken. The road turned into a big hole. I didn't hear that anyone was injured in the incident. Some say they saw the guy who planted the mine," a resident told NP News.
Trucks and vehicles have to drive steering clear of the damages in the middle of the road, sources say. Cargo trucks and passenger vehicles were burned, attacked, and torched by terrorists on Asia Road in recent months.
In some cases, drivers were shot to death. Again, in a few days, the road had to be temporarily closed for more than ten days since clashes occurred between Tatmadaw and the joint forces of KNLA and terrorist PDFs.
It has been only a few days since the Myawaddy- Kawkareik Asia Road reopened and the commodity flow has been back to normal.
