Forex Rate isn’t changed by CBM: Spokesperson

Rumor and disinformation were arisen through social media these days that the official foreign exchange rate set by the #Central_Bank_of_Myanmar are changing from 2100 MMK to 2500 MMK per dollar.
The Spokesperson of the State Administration Council, Major General Zaw Min Tun, confirmed today (March 31) that the #Forex_Rate officially set by the CBM isn’t changed or won’t be changed from the current rate 2100 MMK for one dollar.
“The currency exchange rate is 2100 MMK for one dollar and it won’t be changed,” Major General Zaw Min Tun said.
In fact, many destructive forces are targeting and attacking the monetary system of Myanmar so as to collapse banking and financial systems since before.
Other disinformation has also been arisen that money transactions from Myanmar to and from the foreign banks are frozen and suspended.
The Spokesperson denied all disinformation that “There were rumors that the foreign banks do not process transactions with Myanmar since last week. However, everything is normally processing in the banking sector.”
The State Administration Council notified the public and the businessmen not to be deceived by disinformation in an aspect of banking sector; and information can be enquired and checked directly to the monetary organizations.
