Energy Minister highlights decline in offshore natural gas projects output and urges production boost
Khit/ Pearl (NSS) – March 4
Energy Minister U Ko Ko Lwin stated that offshore natural gas projects, which have been in production for an extended period, are experiencing a decline in output for some of the projects.
This statement was made by Energy Minister U Ko Ko Lwin during a coordination meeting held on 28 February to discuss strategies for increasing oil and natural gas production.
At the coordination meeting, Energy Minister U Ko Ko Lwin emphasized the importance of transforming natural gas into a product that can be used for long-term purposes, rather than simply using it as a raw material.
The Union Minister further noted that existing offshore production projects, having operated for a long period, are experiencing output declines in some cases.
Hence, the Union Minister also urged an increase in the production of existing projects, completion of ongoing projects within the specified timeframe, and the implementation of more new projects.
