PDF terrorists abduct 16 electrical staff in Kanbalu Township

According to the reports made by the local residents, the PDF terrorists abducted 16 electrical staffs in Kanbalu Township.
In the evening of January 5th, the PDF group detonated the transformers at Thaphanseik Dam and Hydropower Plant located in Kyaunghla Township, Kantbalu District, Sagaing Region, residents said.
It is reported that 16 electrical staffs in Kantbalu Township were abducted on January 6th when they went to Thaphanseik Dam to repair the transformers that were blown up by mine.
“Yes, it’s true. They were abducted near Sinswal Village, Thaphanseik Dam. They went there to repair the transformers. 16 electrical staffs were abducted. Maybe they got no security. No one can be contacted,” a resident told NP News.
Report states that the family members of the abductees are worried about the lack of communication with them.
At the time being, towns and villages that are delivered power by the Thaphanseik Hydropower are encountering power outage.
On 21 April 2022, there was an incident where KNDF also abducted a total of 26 electrical workers and their equipment who went to repair the damaged towers of the Lawpita-Shwemyo power line in Kayah State.
