As per the witnesses from village, the #PDF_terrorists attacked Chat Thin Village Police Department located in Kantbalu Township in Sagaing Region. After the attack, the terrorists torched more than 100 residential houses from Chat Thin Village into fire.  

The PDF terrorists invaded Chat Thin Village with mass number of forces on April 24 at an estimated 8:30 pm. After taking foothold in the village, the PDF terrorists fired artilleries at the police department located at the edge of the village, the villagers told NP News. 

A villager who requested not to be named told the NP News that “They invaded the village and fired artilleries to the police department located at the edge of the village. However, they couldn’t conquer over the police station.” 

According to the villager, security forces and police from the police department fired back in defense position. After the crossfire was over, the villagers recounted NP News that, the PDF terrorists fired over 100 houses located in Aung Mingalar Ward and Myoma Ward from Chat Thin Village at an estimated 11 pm. 

With regard to the blind shooting committed by the PDF terrorists in the village, the witness said: “Finally, as they (the PDF terrorists) couldn’t do anything effective attacking the police station, they blindly shot in the village and set fire the houses located on the main road of the village. First, they fired the houses randomly. Then, they fired all houses which are located on the bank of the main road of the village. Then, they left the village at an estimated 2 am.” 

Altogether 62 residential houses, seven warehouses and over 30 shops were destroyed in the fire, as per information. 

The Chat Thin Village is composed of four wards, having more than 1300 houses.

Neutral people from Sagaing Region, especially those where PDF terrorists are moving around, are afraid of the PDF terrorists rather than the State troops. 

With regard to this, the villager continued: “If our village is torched fire by the Myanmar Military, the news about our village would be spread through social media with blossoming information and photos. We, the villagers feel sad for our village that houses were destroyed in the fire. However, we couldn’t dare who made this on the facebook.” 

Victims whose houses were fired are now taking shelters at the monastery. 

As a matter of fact, the PDF terrorists notified and threatened the villagers of Chat Thin Village in 2022 to leave. What is worse, the PDF terrorists still are threatening the village after they torched.
