Chairman of the State Administration Council Senior General Min Aung Hlaing gave a new year message to the public on January 1. In his message, the economic growth in the upcoming year was highlighted as the priority. 

“We will make efforts to have a better economic situation,” said the Senior General continuing that “The MSMEs that are based on agriculture and livestock have to be encouraged.” 

The Senior General also urged that the public to be involved in collaboration to have the stability and socio-economic development of all ethnics. 

Taking 2024 National Census is also set as a priority in his speech highlighting that to achieve the right eligible voter lists plays a key for holding the free and fair multi-party election. In fact, he remarked that the right eligible voter lists will be achieved from the 2024 National Census.

Notwithstanding, the Senior General did not mention the security concern in his speech. As a matter of fact, security, stability, and rule of law are the main concerns to conduct the real free and fair multi-party election.
