The State Administration Council (SAC) stated that they are making efforts to rescue the rector, lecturers, and faculty members of Loikaw University who were recently abducted by the KNPP and PDF terrorists in Kayah State.

On November 13 and 14, KNPP and PDF-affiliated terrorists raided the non-military target, the University of Loikaw, using weapons, artillery, and guns; and forcibly detained the rector, lecturers and faculty members.   

The report further states that the terrorists threatened the rector and faculty members that they would kill the educational personnel since the latter didn’t join in the CDM operation. What is more, the terrorists forcibly arrested the teachers. Worst of all, some teachers were killed brutally by the terrorists. 

Later on, the aforementioned terrorists released the list of the name of the teachers they abducted.

 It is what, in other means, the terrorists admit that they are committing the war crime: abducting civilians and educational personnel. 

However, the terrorists make propaganda that they save the teachers and families on the nonsense ground releasing the video clips of saying witness statements by the rector and the teachers. In the video clip, the faces of the teachers can be seen fear, distress and anxiety. 

With regard to abducting Loikaw University’s teachers, Major General Zaw Min Tun said, “If there is some bad things happened to those abducted teachers in any way, the group that abducted them must take responsibility for it and will be charged.”  

At present, Tatmadaw is making their steadfast efforts to secure the release of the abducted rector, lecturers, and faculty members from Loikaw University, and individuals who have faithfully served the country without participating in CDM.
