UMFCCI announces discussions for seamless CMP trade flow amid border disruptions
Hsu/Pearl (NSS) – Nov 10
On 9th November, the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) announced that ongoing discussions are in progress to facilitate the seamless transportation of CMP raw materials imported through borders to factories and workshops.
The Director General of the Department of Customs, Thein Swe, the Deputy Director General of the Department of Trade, Win Lwin, and other relevant personnel recently held a meeting with entrepreneurs involved in the Cutting, Making, and Packaging (CMP) businesses.
Furthermore, it is reported that they also discussed the conditions of goods facing delays at the border, their transportation processes, import licenses, and other essential details for future operational processes.
Currently, there are disruptions in the export-import processes at the Muse 105-mile border trade zone and the Chinshwehaw Trade Zone. As a result, trading operations are currently permitted at the Myanmar-China border trade and Myanmar-Thailand border trade stations.
Additionally, maritime routes are also authorized based on demand, as declared by the Department of Trade.
