The Myawaddy District police outpost was attacked by a total of four drone bombs in Kayin State on September 3 in which five including the district administrator were killed and at least 13 others were wounded, as per initial information. 

The first two drone bombs were dropped yesterday at an estimated 6:40 pm by joint forces of KNLA and PDF terrorists on district police outpost office from 4000 meters southwest of Myawaddy Town, according to announcement by the State Administration Council’s Information Team. 

Another two bombs were dropped again at an estimated 7:30 pm when authorities including Myawaddy District Administrator Soe Tint and the district police commander went to the incident place for inspection.  

The district administrator was killed in the second time drop bomb attack and the district police commander was wounded, according to a reliable source who close to the Kayin State government. 

The source said, “Two drone bombs were dropped on Myawaddy District police outpost at around 6:40 pm. The Myawaddy District Administrator Soe Tint and team went to the incident place to check and investigate. At that time, another two bombs were dropped. The administrator was killed in the attack and the district police commander was also wounded.” 

In addition, Myawaddy Township Administrator Office was also attacked by drop bomb on the same evening, as per reports.

As per ground information, five in total were killed including Myawaddy District Administrator and clerk; and at least 13 others were wounded in the terror incident including police forces and Tatmadaw security forces. 

However, the State Administration Council said that Tatmadaw security forces, police forces and civil staff were wounded in the incident.
