Myanmar becomes member of Alliance for the Protection of Asian Cultural Heritage

Myanmar has become a member of Alliance for the Protection of Asian Cultural Heritage.
Union Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture Ko Ko attended the General Assembly of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in ASIA held at Xi'an Township, in Shanxi Province, People's Republic of China from 24th to 25th April.
Myanmar became a member of the alliance by the agreement of the original ten member countries.
Along with Myanmar, Azerbaijan, and Sri Lanka became the new member states of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia.
The original 10 countries are Armenia, Cambodia, China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Syria, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
Therefore, the alliance now has 13 member states including Myanmar.
At the assembly, the member countries jointly confirmed on draft basic principles of the alliance countries.
Being a member country, Myanmar has to conduct for the further strengthening of the long-term conservation of cultural heritage across Asia.
Moreover, it is expected that this current multilateral cooperation can bring out prevention and mitigation measures for illegal import and export of cultural properties and facilitation on the return and restitution of lost items.
