According to local civil society organizations, military tension between Tatmadaw and joint forces of KNU and PDF terrorists escalated, and resulting in burning down of departmental buildings and some residential houses. Furthermore, the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Highway is temporarily blocked.

On November 30th, the KNU and PDF terrorists launched heavy weapon firing to the Myanmar military stations in Kawkareik.  

A member of the CSO reported to NSS, "Beginning at 7 o'clock in the morning, the sound of heavy weapons firing and explosions was audible. There was an exchange of gunfire from both sides. By evening, the heavy weapons shooting had ceased."

Fire exchanges occurred on both November 30th and December 1st, with the sound of heavy artillery and gunfire audible as early as 4 am.

As a result of these armed conflicts, certain departmental buildings and houses were destroyed and set ablaze.

A member of the CSO remarked, "We heard gunfire early this morning. The armed conflicts persisted, and from what we have heard, the shootings have intensified near the Myanmar Military stations."

The majority of the armed conflicts erupted in Tadaoo, Khinnannmu, Thabyaykone, Myotawoo, Chaungtaung, Aukywar, and the Farm Animal Husbandry Zone.  

Heavy artillery struck and exploded on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Highway. Consequently, passing trucks, passenger coaches, and private cars had to come to a halt on the highway. The authorities also temporarily closed down the Asia Highway.

On November 17th, the KNU issued a warning announcement to leave the departmental staff from Kawkareik within one week.
