Hsu/ Munich (NSS) - Nov 13
It has been reported that renewed armed conflicts have erupted in Rakhine State; the Arakan Army (AA) initiating attacks on border guard police stations in the region.
On the morning of November 13th, ULA/AA launched an attack on border guard police stations in Rathedaung Township and Minbya Township, commencing at 5 am.
A source close to the Rakhine State Security Force informed NP News, stating, "Armed clashes are occurring on the Koeatnkauk area, extending from Angu Maw in Rathedaung Township. Border guard police stations, situated approximately every 3 miles, are reported to be under attack. The Myanmar Military battalion from Rathedaung Township is providing assistance by deploying heavy artillery fire."
In fact, the Arakan Army (AA) is an alliance with the MNDAA and is actively involved in ongoing armed conflicts in northern Shan State.
As a result of the armed conflicts in Rakhine, local residents are engaging in panic buying of food and essential items, leading to significantly high prices.
By the end of 2022, a ceasefire agreement was reached between the Myanmar Military and the Arakan Army in Rakhine State. Nevertheless, the Arakan Army (AA) breached the ceasefire agreement, reigniting armed conflicts in the region.
A Rakhine national politician remarked his opinion that the present time is the harvest time in Rakhine State and therefore, he believed that local Rakhine people will not desire armed conflicts.
Reports indicate that the armed conflicts in Rakhine State that commenced tgis morning have led to the complete blockade of road, maritime, and water access to the region.
