The Spokesperson of the State Administration Council (SAC), Major General Zaw Min Tun, said that the Kachin Independence Army committed shooting attacks at the Chinese military personnel delegation in border area with China in Kachin State. 

It is reported that the Chinese military delegation visited Myanmar border area to discuss borderline stability with the Myanmar military delegation as the regular meeting is monthly held. 

The Chinese military delegation arrived Myanmar on 27th June to talk the borderline regional stability.

The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) launched firing the vehicles carrying the Chinese military personnel delegation and Myanmar Border Guard Forces when the vehicles reached at 13 kilometers away from Kan Pite Ti. 

Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun said, “We hereby inform that the attackers are the KIA,” continuing that there are disinformation spreading through on social media mainly by the exile and ill-will news outlets to portray contamination in the military cooperation between Myanmar and China.

Rumours were published by the exile outlets in recent days, with aim to distort Myanmar-China relations, that the Border Guard Forces attacked the vehicle carrying a Chinese Consular Officer who was heading to attend the meeting for establishment of Nan Kyin Economic Zone near Myitkyina.
