The allied forces of KNLA and PDF terrorists blew up a bridge in Mon State located between Thaton and Bilin townships this early morning at an estimated 4 am. 

The departmental inspection team from the District level Administration Department that went to check the damages at the bridge was again attacked by a drone bomb and electrically fused rockets by the terrorists at an estimated 7 am. 

In the incident, at least 28 were wounded and one died, according to a reliable source close to the security forces. 

It was the Kyon Aeit Bridge 95 feet in length and 36 feet in width located at the border of Bilin Township and Thaton Township in Mon State. 

One of the responsible personnel from Mon State Government said “The mine exploded around 4:30 am in the early morning. It is a bridge between Thaton and Bilin townships. The bridge is a reinforced concrete type. It is thirty-six feet wide. Due to the explosion, about twenty-four feet of the bridge width was totally destroyed.”  

After the explosion, two private cars that tried to cross the bridge were overturned and destroyed without acknowledging that the bridge was under attack. 

He added “These two private cars seem not knowing the breakage of the bridge. These two cars tried to drive past the bridge. Since it was early in the morning about 4, maybe due to the darkness, these two cars fall into the debris and one passed away.”  

The departmental administrators and officers went to the exploded site to inspect the damages at 7 am. The team also was attacked by the PDF/KNLA terrorists. The terrorists launched both five-drop bombs and electrically fuse rockets to the unarmed departmental officers. 

As per reports, the attack was conducted by the allied forces of KNLA and PDF terrorists and there were threats intimidated by the group in recent days. 

It is reported that after the sabotage at the Kyon Aeit Bridge, only twelve feet wide cars can pass through from the damaged bridge. Therefore, local people and passengers are facing many difficulties in transportation. 

Due to the attack, 12 security forces, 9 police officers, two officers from the general administrative department, three firefighters, and two staff from Shwe Than Lwin construction company were wounded. One district administrator passed away due to the attack. 

It is reported that the injured people were sent to ThaHtoon District People’s Hospital.
