The State Administration Council (SAC) announced that murderers and masterminds of the recent assassination against the nationalist female singer Lily Naing Kyaw have been arrested and disclosed.

Sadly though, the victim reportedly passed away from a total coma status this morning. 

According to the SAC announcement, two murderers who committed the terror assassination in person were arrested while four masterminds, one of them is the former activist D Nyein Lynn, remain still escaped. 

As per the statement, the terrorist group named ‘Special Task Force – STF’ operated the assassination mission. The STF was founded by D Nyein Lynn in January 2023 with 26 members.  

Two murderers namely Kaung Zarni Hein and Kyaw Thura attended the terrorist and explosive training in 2021 at KNLA’s Brigade 1 territory. Both also attended another terrorist training in June 2022 at the camp arranged by the Special Task Force – STF near Bawdine Village, Kawkareik. The two terrorists were arrested on 4th June morning in Kamayut Township at a male hostel, according to the statement. 

According to their confession statements, one of the foreign agents D Nyein Lynn and three others namely Hazel, Yathaw and Nway Nway directed those, who came back to Yangon from the terrorist trainings, to commit extrajudicial killings targeting against unarmed and innocent civilians with accusation of pro-military or defending national interest and Buddha sasana. 

After the STP had been developed, the two murderers ‘Kaung Zarni Hein’ and ‘Kyaw Thura’ came back to Yangon from the KNLA terrorist training camp and temporarily lived at a male hostel located in Kamayut Township, Yangon waiting to receive instructions to commit arbitrary killing in Yangon. 

As per their confession statements, the four masterminds directed and instructed them for the terrorist mission through the telegram group.

As per the confession provided by murderer Kaung Zarni Hein, the ex-activist D Nyein Lynn and Hazel sent them photos and information of the victim Lily Naing Kyaw on 25th May to assassinate her. On 28th May, they sent Sig Sauer pistol and bullets. 

Lily Naing Kyaw was shot in the head in a close range on 30th May near her house by the PDF terrorists. She was in the ICU for a week at the coma status. She passed away on 6th June as her family informed the public. 

According to the statement, the two murderers received 300,000 MMK to kill a human life. 

Lily’s fans and friends, Myanmar Music Association and Myanmar Drama Association (Centre) share sorrow for her death; and condemn the terror assassination.
