Ministry of Foreign Affairs released the welcoming announcement on the position of Myanmar towards Global Security Initiative (GSI) Concept Paper by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.  

Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the announcement on 28th April. 

It is reported that Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China recently released the Global Security Initiative (GSI) Concept Paper in 2022 proposed by President Xi Jinping.

In the announcement released by the Myanmar Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is stated that Myanmar praises and congratulates for China for the achievements gained with regard to global security in the implementation of the GSI over the past year.    

In the announcement, it is stated that Myanmar welcomes the GSI for being a visionary initiative, and its commitments conform to the Five Principles of Peaceful Co-existence, including respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity and non-interference that Myanmar consistently adheres to in conducting its foreign policy. 

The Myanmar Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed that the today world is facing profound changes, the world countries need to strive together for a just and equitable international order. 

Therefore, the ministry said Myanmar is willing to work with China and other countries to implement the GSI.
