The State Administration Council (SAC) released an announcement that the attempted bombers and organizers who are plotting to attack the crowded pavilions and public places in Mandalay during Thingyan Water Festival were captured with weapons and ammunitions. 

The terrorists were captured at the Mya Ye Nandar Housing in 117 (E) between 47x48 street, Kan Thar Yar Ward in Chan Mya Thar Si on 6th April. 

Members of the Special Task Force – STF PDF terrorist group Zaw Min Thein was captured at that housing together with with a Glock Pistol, one of its cartridges, 5 bullets of 0.380 point.

Two other members namely Nang Myo Aung and Shine Wunna Tun were captured with three handmade pistols, 13 bullets of 9 mm and six grenades as per the confession made by Zaw Min Thein.  

On April 8 morning, authorities found out that terrorist groups Royal Phoenix Guerilla Force PDF and STF PDF were taking shelters at Oak Po Village School located in Sagaing. The authorities conducted security operations in the surrounding area.

During the military operation, a PDF member namely Thaw Tar Tun was captured with one FGC-9, 11 handmade pistol, one handmade canon and other related items, according to the SAC.  

Therefore, four terrorists together with one Glock Pistol, one FGC-9, 11 handmade guns, 3 pistols, 1 handmade canon, 6 cartridges, 13 of 9 mm bullets, 5 of point – 380, altogether 115 bullets of various types, 81 China made hand grenades, another 6 hand grenades, 28 rockets for hand grenade, 15 hand made mines, five handmade drop bombs, 20 Viss of dynamite powder, 70 feet of cable, 100 detonators, one binoculars, one bullet proof vest, one bulletproof helmet, 4 walkie talkies, 60 guerrilla uniforms, 20 guerrilla sneakers, two paper boxes of different medicines, nine motorcycles, seven drills and one handcuff were seized.    

According to the confessions made by the captured terrorists, , the STF team was formed in October 2022 with Zaw Min Thein, Nang Myo Aung, Sai Wunna Tun and escaping leaders Evan and Ko Htet, Jack Kyee, Tack Too, Khi Khi, Goet, Min Thant, Lucy and Khant Thu. 

TheSTF terrorist group has committed ten times of extrajudicial killings and one explosion. 

It is also found out that within one mile of the Mandalay Palace, the water pavilion near Ocean Supercenter located western part of Mandalar Thiri Football stadium, Water Pavilion in front of Mandalay Palace Mote and MyaNannSanKyaw Golden Palace and other crowded public areas were targeted by the terrorist group to impose Drop Bomb Drone attacks. 

At present, authorities are conducting necessary investigations to take legal measures to these terrorists, criminals and their accomplices as soon as possible.
