The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on August 28 evening with regard to the statements issued by other countries and international organizations on Rakhine issue happened in 2017. 

The MOFA statement says that the international community intentionally omit the terrorism acts the ARSA did in 2017. The MOFA statement expresses a big warning against the usage ‘Rohingya’ by other countries. 

As a matter of fact, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) terrorist group raided 30 security outposts and a military base simultaneously with well-plan and preparation in 2017. The countries and international organizations that issued the statements on Rakhine issue in 2017 neglect and omit those terrorism acts in purpose, the MOFA statement said.

Tatmadaw and security forces conducted the necessary security measures for protecting the civilians, indigenous ethnics and the regional stability in accordance with rules and regulations.

Therefore, the MOFA expressed that the international community and other countries should condemn on the terror deeds committed by the ARSA terrorist group when it comes to show opinion on the incident happened on 25th August 2017 in Rakhine State. 

In addition, the ministry makes a warning on using the word ‘Rohingya’ as no document and legal papers in Myanmar history have the usage ‘Rohingya’. 

Using the word ‘Rohingya’ in their politically intervening statements and declarations isn’t helping the bilateral repatriation process for Bengalis between Myanmar and Bangladesh, the MOFA statement stated. 

At present, the State Administration Council is conducting to re-accept the displaced persons after thorough scrutinizing process collaborating with allied countries including Bangladesh.
