Armed clashes between PDF terrorists and allied forces of Myanmar Military and Pyithu Sit troops near Tantkyitaung Pagoda located in Pakkoku Township, Magway Region, according to local residents. 

The clash took place on 13th July at an estimated 5:30 am at Taung Ywar village near Tantkyitaung Pagoda. The clash took approximately more than one hour. 

The local residents said that the PDF terrorists approached to the residential village and torched a house. 

“Approximately 20 forces of PDF terrorists approached to the village. Around remaining 40 troops (estimate) took position at 250 meters away from the village. Then, they set fire a house in the village. Then, they started shooting. The paramilitary troops and Tatmadaw troops were guarding the village at the time. Therefore, the Tatmadaw fired back the terrorists,” a villager told NP News. 

An average civilian at 19 years old man was wounded in the fire exchange and died at the hospital. Another villager also was wounded in the clash.  

According to the residents, another group of the PDF terrorists raided another village known as Yey Nan Chat village that locates 2000 meters to Taung Ywar village at the same time. 

A villager from Yey Nan Chat village said, “They (the PDF terrorists) raided Yey Nan Chat village at the same time when fire exchanging with the Tatmadaw troops and Pyithu Sit troops at Taung Ywar village. In fact, they (the PDF terrorists) raided the house living parents of a member of the Pyithu Sit force. They robbed phones, money and other valuable things from the house.”

Due to the clashes, three schools located near those villages were closed, the residents told.
