Former parliamentarian of the National League for Democracy as well as the Central Committee member of the NLD, Sandar Min confirmed that the former State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi denied connection with the terrorist entities – NUG/PDF (National Unity Government/ People’s Defence Forces). 

Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai recently told, at the ASEAN meeting, that he met with Suu Kyi on 9th July. 

In addition, according to the reports, Suu Kyi confirmed in the meeting with Thai minister that she neither recognize nor supports the PDF and NUG. 

Sandar Min said, “As far as I know, it’s true that Thai Foreign Minister met with her. Again, I presume that it’s true that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi said it (referring the information of she denied to recognize the PDF and NUG). Because she told us when we met with her (in prison) to continue to follow the NLD party’s policy. It means she still respects the party policy.”

Sandar Min continued that “Daw Aung San Suu Kyi already said during the court trial that she doesn’t know the NUG and the PDF; and she said those entities are nothing to do with the NLD.” 

Again, Sandar Min remarks “Announcement made by such reliable diplomat as Thai Foreign Minister is more credible than the State Administration Council or us saying that we met with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.”  

More diplomats from international community are expected to be allowed to meet with Suu Kyi by the State Administration Council, Sandar Min said. 

Chairman of the Arakan Front Party Dr. Aye Maung remarks that she (Suu Kyi) is such a person who continuously respects non-violence phenomenon. 

“She has been following the non-violence way all time,” said Dr. Aye Maung continuing that “She needs to prove that she has been following the non-violence way. Therefore, I believe that she told the Thai Foreign Minister about it.”

Suu Kyi, at the time being, has been sentenced 33 years of imprisonment for 19 court cases and is detained at the prison in Naypyidaw in a separate unit with well condition.
