The 7 EAOs publicly announced their condemnation against hate speech and rumor made subjecting to Sasakawa’s Nippon Foundation. 

The Peace Process Steering Team (PPST) released the statement on July 5. 

Japan Government assigned Mr. Sasakawa as a special representative for Myanmar to conduct getting peace and reconciliation. Their statement said Mr. Sasakawa is appreciated and they also are cooperating with the Nippon Foundation. 

The Nippon Foundation, led by Mr. Sasakawa, supports projects for the development of ethnic regions, schools, and hospitals.

In addition, 64,000 bags of rice were distributed in the territories of 7 NCA-S EAOs in 2022-23 for humanitarian assistance, the statement said. They will also deliver more rice bags in 2023-24, as per the reports. 

Therefore, 7 NCA-S-EAO has issued a statement condemning hate speech and rumors makers attacking Mr. Sasakawa and his organization, which has been supporting IDPs and refugees in ethnic areas since previous successive governments.

The ALP, DKBA, KNU/KNLA-PC, LDU, NMSP, and PNLO ethnic armed organizations that signed the NCA also stated that they will fully support and cooperate with the Nippon Foundation and Chairman Sasakawa.

In 2022, the resurgent war between Tatmadaw and AA was reportedly ended thanks to the mediation by Mr. Sasakawa, the chairman of the Nippon Foundation.
