The Burmese Ruby Tiara including 79 tops listed of Myanmar dynasty heritages taken by British colony have yet re-owned, according to the Department of Historical Research and National Library. 

The Department of Historical Research and National Library under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture informed as abovementioned today (June 28). 

On 29 November 1885, Myanmar lost supreme power after the British conducted the Anglo-Burmese wars for three times. 

The British colony took all Myanmar’s dynasty heritages after colonizing Myanmar. 

The department also addressed that Queen Elizabeth II of England returned (141) items, including royal palace items of Myanmar's Konbaung dynasties, back to Myanmar in 1964 during the Revolutionary Council. 

However, the very precious and renowned royal items remained to be returned back from England, as the ministry addressed, involve renowned ‘Padamyar Nga Mauk’ or the royal ruby, Hlaw Kar Tin Lay gem, Hlaw Kar Tin Gyi gem and Sat Ma Taw gem.

Other royal items involve a total of 79 pieces including 12 pairs of earrings made with diamond, emerald and ruby; 8 pieces of belts and waist wears, crowns, choker necklaces, bracelets, chains, rings and other items that are decorated for royal wearing made with diamonds, ruby and precious gems. Those royal materials are still remained to be returned by the British, the ministry said.  

The Department of Historical Research and National Library demanded to get back the lost royal items both known and unknown accessories. 

“Returning back the materials to the owner is fair and reasonable. Since we got the Independence, the Britain King and his government are responsible to return all hereditary royal items that they took in the British colony era to Myanmar. That is why the countries they colonized demanded to get back their materials when the Queen Elizabeth demises. In fact, they should give back all those items to the original owners,” Chairman of the Arakan Front Party Dr. Aye Maung remarks.   

He also commented that Myanmar (the relevant ministries, departments, CSOs, political parties and the public) should process as per procedures to get back those royal items.
