5 NCA-S-EAOs, Government’s NSPNC talk for ongoing peace building

The National Solidarity and Peace-Making Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) held a meeting with five NCA signatory ethnic armed organizations in Naypyidaw yesterday.
Main issues were discussed in the talk, including the points to be amended in the 2008 Constitution, the matter of being able to implement the points agreed upon in the previous discussions, and the issue of holding a peace conference.
Others including regional stability and the fight against drugs were also highlighted in the meeting by both sides.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including a Member of the State Administration Council Union Minister at the Union Government Office Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee-NSPNC Peace Talks Team Leader Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Member of the SAC Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein and members, and Chair Saw Mra Raza Lin of Arakan Liberation Party-ALP, Saw Sein Win at the rank of Adjutant-General of Democratic Karen Benevolent Army-DKBA, Vice Chair Dr Naw Kapaw Htoo of KNU/KNLA-Peace Council, Vice Chairman Kya Phoo of Lahu Democratic Union-LDU and Patron Phyar Tan Khun Okkar of Pa-O National Liberation Organization-PNLO and members of the delegations.
The PPST consists of 10 groups that have previously signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) in October 2015.
The first-day meeting concluded, and the second day of discussions is scheduled to resume on 27 June.
