The Indian Navy’s flagships carried humanitarian aids and disaster relief supplies for Myanmar people who were affected by the Cyclone Mocha have been arrived in Myanmar’s Thilawa Port and handed over to Myanmar authorities yesterday, according to the statement released by the State Administration Council (SAC).

The Indian Navy’s flagships: INS Shivalik, INS Kamorta and INS Savitri carried 40 tonnes of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) materials, as per the announcement made by the Indian Embassy.

The relief items involved tents, portable generators, clothes, water pumps, medicines, tarpaulins, hygiene and sanitary items, wheel chair, face masks etc plus food items.

The HADR materials were received by Chief Minister of Yangon Region, Soe Thein and Commander of the Yangon Region Command, General Zaw Hein.

The international media highlights that the Myanmar government is blocking humanitarian access to Cyclone-hit area and the international entities are calling for humanitarian aid.

However, the Myanmar government is conducting necessary arrangements in suitable ways for relief programs and supplies to transport to Rakhine.

The Defense Services (Navy and Airforce) have been transporting required items and relief materials for resettlement and rescue works in Rakhine State.

The SAC declared that a total of more than 13b MMK donation received from domestic donors for Cyclone hit areas.
