Discussion was held on the construction of Electric Vehicles (EV) Charging Stations at hotels and shopping centers in Yangon at the City Hall on April 28. 

The EVs are widely used internationally and Myanmar is also making efforts to use them widely. 

Therefore, EV Charging Stations are projected to be built at toll gates and also on the expressways. 

Similarly, the charging stations will also be constructed at the hotels and shopping centers, Yangon Mayor Bo Htay made a speech at the discussion. 

The mayor exoects to use EV in Yangon widely as the City Yangon is the capital of business with densed population.

He suggested that more charging stations are needed at the public areas for EVs and taxis so as to be widely used. 

Additionally, the government has relaxed taxation system for the electric vehicle transportation since April 1, 2023.
