NP News - April 24

Director-General of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Mr. Peng Xiubin, paid a visit to Myanmar’s former military ruler Senior General Than Swe and Former President Thein Sein, according to reports. 

The delegation led by Director-General Peng Xiubin arrived at Naypyidaw on 18 April. A reliable source from the high rank in the State Administration Council confirmed the news to the NP News. 

Before meeting with former Senior General Than Shwe and former President Thein Sein, the Chinese delegation also met with some powerful political parties in separately.  

During the meeting, Mr. Peng Xiubin presented and shared the matters relating to Chinese Government’s assumptions and concerns over Myanmar. There are potential investments from China in Myanmar in the near future since business entrepreneurs from China are interested for better business cooperation. 

When meeting with the political parties’ representatives, both sides discussed on the topics relating to Aung San Suu Kyi and the potentiality of the National League for Democracy in the future.

As per information, Mr. Peng Xiubin’s visit to Myanmar lasted for about 4 days from 16th to 19th April. During his working visit, he also met with Chinese community leaders and organizations in Myanmar.
